Let’s face it: The NFT space moves really fast. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs might as well be a month IRL.

Don’t get us wrong — the more people onboarded into the space, the merrier. But because of the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.

Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you, as we’ll be coming up with a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you definitely don’t want to miss.

The Gift of Life

Who: Matt Szczur

What: Auction and drawings

When: Jan. 17 @ 6:30 p.m. ET

Where: Nifty Gateway

Why: Matt Szczur is a professional baseball player and 2016 World Series Champion who began his art career by raising money through his paintings for multiple nonprofit organizations. Proceeds from this, Szczur’s first-ever drop on NG, will benefit the Matthew Szczur Foundation to help raise awareness, find matches for bone marrow transplants, and save lives.

Why: Kidmograph is an illustrator, motion designer, and art director based in Buenos Aires who has been releasing art online since 2003. Having become a prominent name in the NFT ecosystem, he now presents an NFT collection that explores elements, chaos, creation, destruction, balance, energy, and more.

Why: Oscar Llorens is a multidisciplinary artist from Madrid who has been minting unique surreal pieces since early 2021. Having completed client work for a myriad of large-name companies like Red Bull, Mercedes, Samsung, and more, Llorens is now releasing his first drop on the NG platform, which explores elements of “fire, water, earth, wind, love, and soul.”

HapeBeast

Why: HapeBeast is a new art and fashion playground from London-based studio Digimental. Built around an initial drop of 8,192 unique NFTs, the project unites style, technology, and community.

Heroes of Manchester

Who: Jose Delbo

What: Collection mechanics TBA

Where: MakersPlace

Why: Jose Delbo is an 88-year-old comic artist who has worked on nearly every major DC and Marvel Comics series’ in existence. With this latest NFT drop, Delbo has teamed up with the City of Manchester to release pieces is inspired by the concept of football heroes.

Who: Sarah Zucker

Why: Sarah Zucker is an LA-based artist who merges humor, psychedelia, mysticism through the use of both cutting edge and obsolete technologies. Considered a crypto-art OG, she now returns to NG with a triptych of VideoPaintings seemingly on the topic of Greek Mythology.

The Defiants

Why: Rob Liefeld is a comic book creator, writer, artist, and author from Orange County best known as the creator of Deadpool. With this new drop on MakersPlace, the comic legend will debut an all-new original set of characters called “The Defiants.”

Why: Tommy Wilson is a minor-league pitcher who began his journey into NFTs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Having become a prominent part of the NFT community, Wilson has continued to prove himself a wildly talented 3D artist and now returns to NG for his third drop on the platform.

Why: Robbie Trevino is a conceptual artist and illustrator based in Seattle who specializes in surreal and sci-fi design. Having recently taken on the role of Senior Concept Designer at Lucasfilm, Trevino remains one of the most prominent crypto-artists in the NFT space. With this latest collection, Trevino focuses on human psychology is the focus for a limited edition of 15 NFTs available via TRLab.

LXVEWORLD

Why: LXVEWORLD is a collection of 10,000 tracks produced by rising producer juuku, paired with 10,000 avatars drawn by crypto-artist Lxveless. Combining the worlds of music and visual art, each piece from the project contains an avatar who explores the hope and heartbreaks of finding love, and a song representing a world for them to explore.

Rave Pigs

Why: Rave Pigs is an avatar collection that features illustrations by a legendary anonymous Berlin graffiti artist that are algorithmically paired with original music from Grammy Award-winning techno DJ and producer Boys Noize. Rave Pigs holders will own the rights to both the artwork and music in their NFT.
