ICYMI Mondays: Oct. 4

October 04, 2021

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of waking up on a Monday and realizing you missed out on some incredible drops over the weekend.

It can be truly disheartening to find out that an awesome project launched, minted and sold out all while you were tied up with a wedding, camping trip, or multiday metaverse bender.

Don’t go FOMOing into anything just yet though, because every Monday, we’re bringing you a roundup of the art, collectibles, airdrops and more you missed while you were away.

In true Pak fashion, Fomoverse was a cryptic, unexplained drop that is still shrouded in mystery. Launched on Oct. 2 via a barrage of tweets, the collection of 1,234 NFTs — given away for free — were all claimed instantly.

Centered around the idea of FOMO (fear of missing out), Fomoverse looks to be a new metaverse project that provides incentives to holders. Pak has referred to Fomoverse NFTs as “parcels” and collectors as his “partners,” and introduced the idea of a 50/50 secondary sales split between himself and collectors.

The floor currently sits around 7 ETH, even with such little contextual information available.

The Humanoids

CryptoPunk derivatives have been a huge staple of the 2021 NFT market. As the iconic Larva Labs project has reached nearly unattainable status for most NFT enthusiasts, the launch of The Humanoids has added another alternative to the growing list of notable Punk knockoffs.

While The Humanoids — with a cap of 10,000 — are obviously CryptoPunks inspired, they offer a wide variety of interesting 3D traits and characteristics. Although the full supply of NFTs in the collection sold out toward the end of last week, the art reveal was completed over the weekend, bringing the project floor up to settle around 0.7 ETH.

FVCK_AVATAR Announcement

On Sept. 30, superstar crypto-artist FVCKRENDER announced a new project, FVCK_AVATAR. Teased via his Twitter and Discord, the visuals surrounding the impending endeavor seem to suggest the beginning of a new chapter in his coveted FVCK_CRYSTALS collection.

In just a few short months since the initial FVCK_CRYSTALS drop, FVCKRENDER has already started to dole out some serious FOMO. The digitally native artist has rewarded his devout collectors in the past via airdrops and exclusive community rewards, and with this latest project, is set to deliver something the NFT collectively thought might never happen — a FVCKRENDER PFP project.

DC Comics NFT Pre-Registration

DC Comics has partnered with Palm NFT Studio to give away superhero NFTs. Those who register for its Oct. 16 FanDome event will receive a randomly selected NFT on Oct. 5.

These free NFTs will depict iconic superheroes Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn, and come in three degrees of rarity: common, rare, and legendary. Pre-registration can be completed on the FanDome website here.

Fly Frogs

Fly Frogs is a PFP project that launched back in August, and recently began to pick up traction as amphibian NFT projects have started to boom (thanks, CrypToadz). Throughout September, these 10,000 generative frogs hopped their way across Twitter, leading to a full sellout on the morning of Oct. 4.

With the collection consisting of 180+ hand-drawn assets across six traits, each NFT costs 0.022 ETH to mint, and have since reached a floor of around 0.06 ETH.
