Ahoy & GM weary traveler,

Traversing the vast expanse of the world’s largest NFT marketplace has become a bit daunting, hasn’t it?

Well fret not, I’ve been venturing far and wide with the simple goal of unearthing the most innovative and awe-inspiring NFT projects out there!

In this weekly column, I’ll share all sorts of discoveries with you – big, small, new and old. So all aboard the S.S. WAGMI to marvel at what I’ve found whilst Sailing the OpenSea

Woodies: Generative Characters

Woodies is a new PFP project being actively rolled out by a group of incredible artists and developers that are highly regarded within the NFT community. The collection boasts a rich storyline and consists of 10,000 “forest creatures” looking for a home.

We covered Woodies on the September 20 edition of ICYMI Mondays as a project worth keeping an eye on. Currently, the only way to collect a Woodie is to redeem via Mint Passport or purchase one on Secondary. There are varying tiers of passports that yield unique perks, including earlier minting dates and the ability to win a Woodie via raffle.

Infinites AI

Those interested in generative art are sure to find something to love about Infinites AI. Consisting of 512 NFTs, Infinites are uniquely generated at the time of the mint.

The project uses a GAN (basically a generative computer) trained by artworks from classic artists like Picasso and Rembrandt to create an image that is then augmented on-chain. With a current floor is sitting at 2.7 ETH, these may be more of an investment than most are willing to take on, but are truly beautiful individual pieces of art.

Thousand Ether Homepage

Thousand Ether Homepage is a legacy NFT collection that recently resurfaced. Dating back to 2017, the contents of the project has now been wrapped and transferred to OpenSea to be collected as NFTs.

Boasting past support from heavyweights like Balaji Srinivasan and Alexis Ohanian, the idea of the project was to be the first blockchain-based, fully decentralized ad platform. Now that all of the real estate has been claimed on the original website, Thousand Ether Homepage is only available via secondary. With a total supply of only 1,621 ad units sitting at a floor of 0.4 ETH, these NFTs surely won’t last long.

Flowtys

Flowtys is a new avatar project with art inspired by iconic 1920’s cartoon characters. With a supply of 10,000 tokens, Flowtys may be the first generative NFT to offer unique, animated NFTs with this style of art.

While still relatively niche in the space, vintage cartoon-stylized NFTs seem to be incredibly popular among those that appreciate the sentiment behind them. Snagging a floor Flowty only costs 0.03 ETH, with the bonus that the collection also grants owners full commercial rights.

Treeverse

The Treeverse is a pixel-themed metaverse experience created by NFT collector/influencer Loopify. With a total supply of 10,420 tokens, the project looks to gamify chatter and discourse within the NFT community.

Loopify knows as well as anyone how monotonous it can be engaging on the new school message boards of Twitter and Discord. In an attempt to create a more active way of communicating with each other, Treeverse recalls the days of Runescape and the like. Sitting at a floor of 0.75 ETH, a Treeverse Plot is your ticket into this new metaverse.

Sneaky Vampire Syndicate

Sneaky Vampire Syndicate is a project that has largely flown under the radar since its launch. Featuring 8,888 vampire PFP NFTs, the collection has recently started to take off and achieve some organic exposure within the space.

While most avatar projects stick to basing their art off of animals, a few have ventured towards fictitious characters like zombies, aliens, robots and more. With a floor sitting just over 2 ETH, Sneaky Vampire Syndicate NFTs aren’t cheap, but definitely worth it to those who have ever fantasized about growing fangs and transforming into a bat.

ArcadeNFT

ArcadeNFT may be one of the most addicting projects on OpenSea. Combining the lure of retro arcade games with NFT tradeability, this project’s 5,555 tokens are fully playable video games that live on the blockchain.

Whether you were a pinball champ or PacMan expert, this project will definitely appeal to the kid in you. Available to purchase at as low as 0.06 ETH, ArcadeNFT allows collectors to own a classic arcade game, without the clunkiness of a full-sized cabinet.
