Boss Beauties Announces Acquisition of BFF
Boss Beauties, a media and entertainment brand dedicated to uplifting and guiding the upcoming generation of women and girls, has announced it is acquiring BFF, a community dedicated to educating and connecting others in the emerging tech space. In addition to being an NFT PFP collection, Boss Beauties creates educational programs, engaging content, and exclusive products.
BFF, a decentralized organization that also helps women and non-binary people get plugged in and educated in Web3, has a similar mission to Boss Beauties. By consolidating, the two communities hope to “supercharge [their] efforts” in bringing the next wave of one million women and girls into Web3.
Lisa Mayer, Co-Founder and CEO of Boss Beauties, told nft now that this move will help provide women with multiple avenues of success in the crypto space.
“Web3’s projected market value is expected to be $10 trillion in the next five years as it continues to grow, but, unfortunately, women and girls are already being left behind in such a young industry,” she said. “If we want the next generation, especially women and girls, to be successful in learning about new technologies as they evolve, they will need access to trusted and diverse educational resources. That’s exactly what Boss Beauties will be able to provide by acquiring such an amazing brand and community as BFF.”
Earlier this year, Boss Beauties announced a joint digital collectibles project with Barbie aimed at bringing more women into the Web3 space. It also announced a $250,000 donation to the Barbie Dream Gap Project and the Boss Beauties Foundation. Boss Beauties was the first women-led Web3 company featured in both the New York Stock Exchange and the United Nations.
BFF, co-founded by Brit Morin and Jaime Schmidt in 2022, is known for its comprehensive educational content curated by experts, as well as its immersive events and “21 Days of Web3” initiative. The brand also garnered attention for distributing complimentary digital collectibles to 8,000 wallets at its inception, with founding members such as Tyra Banks, Randi Zuckerberg, and Paris Hilton.
Jaime Schmidt, Co-Founder of BFF, echoed the message that they are stronger together. “By combining our strengths, expertise, and shared vision with Boss Beauties, we are now better positioned to drive innovation, expand our impact, and provide even more value to our members and the broader community.”
Building on that sentiment and emphasizing the broader vision of their initiative, Lila Thomas, Vice President of Brand and Strategic Partnerships at Boss Beauties, spoke with nft now about the importance of having credible educational resources and spaces for women and girls.
“It’s so important to us at Boss Beauties to focus on educating the next generation of women and girls,” Thomas said, highlighting the approachability of BFF’s educational resources on web3 and other rising technologies. “This move ensures that women and girls stay updated and involved as these technologies advance. [This] also allows us to continue building out BFF’s incredible educational content, which truly makes learning about web3 and emerging technologies so approachable.”
The bear market can be a time period that ushers in periods of consolidation among companies. Rather than viewing this as a mere survival tactic, it’s essential to recognize the silver lining: consolidations can lead to the merging of expertise, resources, and visions. It can transform and fortify existing brands, making them more resilient, innovative, and equipped to face future challenges.
