Ahoy and GM, weary traveler.

Traversing the vast expanse of the world’s largest NFT marketplace has become a bit daunting, hasn’t it?

Well fret not. I’ve been venturing far and wide with the simple goal of unearthing the most innovative and awe-inspiring NFT projects out there!

In this weekly column, I’ll share all sorts of discoveries with you — big, small, new and old. So all aboard the S.S. WAGMI to marvel at what I’ve found whilst Sailing the OpenSea

Generascope

Generascope is a new fine-art project created by Jason Seife. The collection totals 1,111 NFTs, with each piece generated from 11 hand-drawn seed images.

Undoubtedly stemming from Seife’s Middle Eastern-inspired carpet paintings, Generascope is sat at the crossroads of generative art and highly-detailed illustration. Launched on Jan. 13, the current Generascope floor is 1.35 ETH.

WVRPS by WarpSound

WVRPS is a new PFP project that pairs generative art with AI-composed music. The collection features 9,999 NFTs separated out into three species and with varying degrees of rarity.

WVRPS was created by WarpSound, a collective started by virtual artists Nayomi, DJ Dragoon, and Gnar Heart. As the project launched on Jan. 16, at only five days old the floor has reached 0.3 ETH.

1989 Sisters

1989 Sisters is the first NFT collection from fashion illustrator Blair Breitenstein. As the title suggests, the collection is comprised of 1,989 NFTs generated from dozens of physical hand-drawn or painted pieces.

With this collection, Breitenstein has taken her signature fashion print style and immortalized it on the blockchain. As a completely original endeavor, no brands are affiliated, connected, or associated in any way. The floor is currently 1.01 ETH.

Synesthesia

Synesthesia is an Art Blocks Factory project from producer and DJ PLS&TY. The collection features 250 pieces comprised of both generative art and PLS&TY’s signature musical stylings.

As the latest contender in the growing generative audio NFT sector, Synesthesia offers a unique, pastel-laden experience. The project expands upon PLS&TY’s constantly expanding NFT works and has currently reached a floor of 0.22 ETH.

Azuki

Azuki is a new community-built PFP project that has recently taken the NFT space by storm. Featuring 10,000 anime-inspired NFTs, in just over a week it has become a new community favorite.

Toted as a “brand for the metaverse,” the Azuki community has grown exponentially since the project launched. Having already done nearly 33,000 ETH (over $90 million) in secondary sales volume, the floor has reached 4.5 ETH.

BrainDrops

BrainDrops is an original AI generative art platform from prominent NFT influencer/collector Justin Trimble. The OpenSea collection currently houses 5,024 NFTs spread across six drops from six individual artists.

Featuring collections from some of the most beloved artists in the NFT community, BrainDrops has continued to gain popularity since launching back in November. The current floor, across the entire platform, currently sits at 0.19 ETH.

Capsule House

Capsule House is an NFT PFP project based on Japanese capsule toys created by artists SeerLight and Kaejunni. Totalling 10,000, there’s a lot more to these adorable NFTs than meets the eye.

Launched back in September, the collection of gachapon NFTs is now transitioning to full-scale PFP avatars. Beginning on Jan. 31, Capsule House holders will be able to claim a highly-detailed portrait NFT of their unique token. Because of this, there has been a surge in trading and the floor has reached 1.55 ETH.
