Italian luxury fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana closed nine NFT auctions today, bringing in a historic total of 1,885 ETH (around $5.7 million) and setting a new bar for fashion NFTs.

As part of the “Collezione Genesi” collection, these 1/1 pieces allow the collector to receive the corresponding custom-fitted physical garment within a one to two-year claim period.

Originally revealed in its Venice couture event, Dolce & Gabbana’s “Collezione Genesi” collection is a nine-piece, one-of-a-kind collection personally designed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Created exclusively for UNXD, the collection reportedly took thousands of hours to craft, and includes three crowns, three jackets, two dresses and a full suit.

Among the auction winners were influential NFT collectors Pranksy and Seedphrase, as well as digital fashion collecting house RED DAO.

As other luxury brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry and more have become involved in the world of non-fungibles, mainstream interest in both fashion NFTs and metaverse wearables appears to be steadily growing.
