Immutable Teams Up with Amazon to Enhance Web3 Gaming
Web3 game developer Immutable announced its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), joining Amazon’s ISV Accelerate Program. The co-sell program enables organizations that provide software solutions to work with Immutable to leverage expert AWS resources, including offering Immutable customers AWS cloud credits. Through AWS Activate, Immutable is able to grant AWS cloud credits up to $100,000 in cloud services for Immutable’s customers.
With over 240+ technologists, the Sydney-based Web3 game developer was co-founded in 2018 by James Ferguson, Robbie Ferguson, and Alex Connolly. They are also backed by leading transformational tech investors such as Coinbase, Temasek, BITKRAFT Ventures, and more.
At the heart of the partnership is a synthesis of cloud data with Ethereum, underscoring a promising blueprint for blockchain gaming. In August, Immutable also partnered with Polygon Labs to begin testing its enterprise-grade security solution, Immutable zkEVM, which marked the developer’s first end-to-end EVM solution.
Through these services, Immutable has increased its scalability to handle a 10x increase in partnered games and improved reliability to enhance the customer experience through increased security and over 99 percent uptime, according to the company’s Oct. 11 blog post.
“Today, web3 gaming is one of the fastest growing sub-sectors of the blockchain industry and is already enjoyed by millions of gamers worldwide,” said John Kearney, head of startups, Amazon Web Services, Australia and New Zealand.
Kearney says that by supercharging Immutable’s development via onboarding new game studios, AWS can provide the necessary infrastructure to help accelerate global launches through its flagship AWS Activate startup program and the AWS ISV Accelerate Program.
For players, Immutable Passport, which offers instant digital wallet onboarding, and Immutable Checkout, which provides an all-in-one transaction infrastructure, Immutable is pushing to become that “one-stop-shop” where game developers can find all the components and resources they need to build a successful Web3 game.
For developers, the ability to build and launch in days through SDKs (software development kits) and blockchain data APIs makes the overall experience much more streamlined.
By integrating Immutable zkEVM, powered by Polygon, Immutable can legitimately say it’s using the “gold standard” for Ethereum gaming and its optimized game-specific ZK-rollup, Immutable X. In other words, developers won’t have to dive into new coding languages to be able to build a game.
Immutable’s aspirations don’t just halt at being a mere platform. They’re shaping up as the go-to hub for game developers, offering many integrated products, from distribution to transaction infrastructures. These are hosted on AWS, emphasizing the interwoven relationship between the two entities.
Immutable, backed by AWS, is not just offering a platform; it’s laying the foundation for an integrated web3 gaming cosmos.
