Let’s face it: The NFT space moves really fast. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs might as well be a month IRL.

Don’t get us wrong — the more people onboarded into the space, the merrier. But because of the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.

Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you as we pull together a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you definitely don’t want to miss. Here’s what to look out for this week.

Lil Clowns

Who: Fat Baby

What: 333 PFPs

When: July 3 at 2:06 p.m. ET

Where: OpenSea

Why: Lil Clowns is the latest venture launched by London-based queer artist Fat Baby. Featuring 333 clown-inspired NFTs, the new collection is billed as “fun, cute, and loving” but revolves around a whimsical rule-based lore akin to that of the 1984 comedy horror film Gremlins.

Who: Peter Franck

What: Open edition

When: July 4 at 6 p.m. ET

Where: Nifty Gateway

Why: Taste is the claimable companion edition piece released alongside German artist Peter Franck’s Heartbreak Nifty Gateway drop. The edition is free to anyone holding all three works from the Heartbreak drop for 48 hours only.

Trilogy Blue Edition

Who: Trilogy NFT

What: Open editions

When: July 5 at 3 p.m. ET

Where: Nifty Gateway

Why: Following Red and Orange, the Blue Edition series is the third release from Trilogy NFT, a concept Web3 art curation platform. The Blue Edition features works from Alex V0da, Bagen Blagen, and Gordon Zuchhold, as well as a collaborative commemorative piece.

Credit: Ether

Who: Viii and CV

What: 5,555 PFP NFTs

When: July 9, 11 a.m. ET

Why: Ether is an upcoming anime-themed PFP project that seeks to combine fashion, innovation, and storytelling. Somewhat adjacent to the wildly popular Azuki project, Ether was conceived by members of SpiritDAO.

The project originally launched with plans for a 10,000 token supply, but on July 2, the team announced that supply would be reduced to 5,555, citing “current market conditions and sentiment.”

Platonic Solids

Who: Anthony James and GODA

What: 1/1 animated NFTs

When: July 7 at 3 p.m. ET

Why: Crafted by British-born, Los Angeles-based artist Anthony James and presented by the Gallery of Digital Assets (GODA), this collection seeks to re-investigate the five sacred geometries known as the Platonic solids — the tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron. Rather than presenting them in sculptural forms, James has opted for animated and gamified NFTs.

Pudgy Penguins Banana Suit

Who: Pudgy Penguins

What: 150 physical and digital collectibles

When: July 8 at 9 p.m. ET.

Where: NTWRK and SASOM

Why: On the heels of the brand’s Shark Suit collectible release comes the Pudgy Penguins Banana Suit, based on the 1/1 Banana Pudgy Penguin #2447. Each vinyl penguin comes with an NFC chip on its belly so users can learn more about their Pudgy and ensure authenticity. With these drops, Pudgy Penguins hopes to “invade the traditional collector market with the Pudgy Penguins IP.”
