Let’s face it: The NFT space moves really fast. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs might as well be a month IRL.
Don’t get us wrong — the more people onboarded into the space, the merrier. But because of the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.
Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you, as we’ll be coming up with a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you definitely don’t want to miss.
Opera Noir
Who: Timbaland
What: Edition NFTs
When: Nov. 2 @ 6 p.m. ET
Where: Timbaland.com
Why: Timbaland is going from Bored Ape enthusiast to bonafide crypto artist with this new drop. The legendary producer partnered with husband-wife artist-duo Jennifer and Kevin McCoy, and is set to unveil a series of Music NFTs composed of stems, hooks and beats from his upcoming EP, Opera Noir.
Swolfchan Snapshot
Who: Swolfchan
What: Snapshot for Mitzsuki burn
When: Nov. 2 @ 12 p.m. ET
Where: Nifty Gateway
Why: Swolfchan recently completed his first drop on Nifty Gateway, and is returning to the platform for the next step in the Mitzsuki series. With forms going out to collectors come Nov. 2, it’s clear a burn mechanism will be implemented soon, but the rewards from burning are yet to be revealed.
Hackatao Collectors Drawing
Who: Hackatao
What: Collector rewards drop
When: Nov. 3 @ 6:30 p.m. ET
Where: Nifty Gateway
Why: With their two part remix series completed, Hackatao return to Nifty Gateway once again to give back to their collectors. While the duo has continued to tease the forthcoming NFT, it seems the drawing will be available to enter for collectors of any of Hackatao’s previous NG pieces.
Hammer the Undefeated
Who: MC Hammer
What: Auctions, other components TBA
When: Nov. 3 @ 6:30 p.m. ET
Where: MakersPlace
Why: MC Hammer, one of hip-hop’s iconic names, has entered into the world of non-fungibles. Hammer, who dominated the airwaves in the ’80s and ’90s, has continued to express interest in the NFT community throughout 2021, is now partnering with MakersPlace on his first-ever NFT drop.
Marco Mori’s First NG Drop
Who: Marco Mori
What: Two drawings, one open edition
When: Nov. 4 @ 6:30 p.m. ET
Where: Nifty Gateway
Why: Marco Mori — who made a name for himself through visual collabs with the superstars such as Kanye West, Gorillaz, Future and more — has found a foothold for himself in the NFT community over the last year. With his first solo drop on Nifty Gateway, Mori offers up two drawings and an open edition from his popular Creepture series.
NFT.NYC
Who: The entire NFT community
What: Speakers, parties, pop-ups and more
When: Nov. 1-4
Where: NFT.NYC
Why: With 500+ speakers and countless satellite events, NFT.NYC will undoubtedly be one for the books. While there may or may not be some special NFT drops happening concurrent with the convention, the magnitude of this multi-day event are too impressive not to include on this list.
