Sailing the OpenSea: Urbit ID, Wilder World, Bushidos & More
Ahoy and GM, weary traveler.
Traversing the vast expanse of the world’s largest NFT marketplace has become a bit daunting, hasn’t it?
Well fret not. I’ve been venturing far and wide with the simple goal of unearthing the most innovative and awe-inspiring NFT projects out there!
In this weekly column, I’ll share all sorts of discoveries with you — big, small, new and old. So all aboard the S.S. WAGMI to marvel at what I’ve found whilst Sailing the OpenSea …
Urbit ID
Urbit IDs are not only NFTs, but each is a unique identifier that allows its owners to interface with the Urbit OS. As part of the continuously evolving Urbit platform, this collection of 14,105 NFTs provides utility and access to its collectors in an innovative way.
Each Urbit ID NFT coincides with a short, four-syllable name (found as the name of each individual NFT). This name, in conjunction with an eight-syllable master passkey, is how Ubrib IDs allow their owners to access the Urbit OS. The current floor for an Urbit ID NFT is 0.028 ETH. To learn more about Urbit ID technology, visit the Urbit website.
Wilder World
Wilder World is an OpenSea collection of rare in-game NFTs from the Wilder World ecosystem. Comprised of posters, shoes, cars and more, this collection of currently 2,239 NFTs represents the secondary market for the Wilder World Metaverse Market.
Billed as an immersive 5D metaverse built on the Ethereum blockchain, the still-developing Wilder World has attracted a cult following over the last year. With Wilder Wheels and Wilder Kicks — two collections on the WW roadmap that also includes metaverse houses, community-built cities and a guild — rolled out, the floor of this steadily growing WW OpenSea collection currently sits at 0.35 ETH.
Bushidos
Bushidos is a project built by financial industry veterans from Coinbase and Stripe. Comprised of 8,888 Samurai-themed NFTs, Bushidos are said to be “warriors established to preserve the decentralization of the blockchain and protect against FUD.”
Inspired by samurai lore and culture, the project developers are planning a multi-season roadmap to provide utility to those who join the Bushido community. With a floor currently 0.022 ETH, Bushidos are a fantastically affordable collection.
Arpeggi Genesis Studio Pass
The Genesis Studio Pass is the inaugural collection from Arpeggi Labs. The collection’s 512 NFTs act as a pass to interact with the first-ever on-chain creative music platform, Arpeggi Studio.
Arpeggi Studio allows users to create entire songs via their online sequencing software. After a song is completed, users can even mint them directly to the Ethereum blockchain and into their personal wallet by utilizing the Genesis Studio Pass. The floor for the Genesis Pass currently sits around 0.35 ETH.
FVCK_CRYSTAL//
FVCK_CRYSTAL// is a collection of 4,169 crystal/stone NFTs designed by FVCKRENDER. Not only do these stones come attached to the name of one of the most prominent crypto artists, but will allow users to participate in future events, raffles and exclusive areas of the FVCKRENDERVERSE//.
To emphasize his disdain for “paper hands,” FVCKRENDER has promised no roadmap to coincide with FVCK_CRYSTAL//. But with FVCK_AVATARS// on the horizon — available only to FVCK_CRYSTAL// holders — the crystal floor has ebbed and flowed in the last few weeks, settling around 1.45 ETH.
The Meta Key
The Meta Key launched with the simple idea of spearheading interoperability within the NFT ecosystem. There are currently four unique versions of The Meta Key — each is an edition piece, and together, the collection totals 9,750 NFTs.
The developers of The Meta Key aim to provide the ability to connect to multiple platforms, games, websites, and more with one single Key. Each version of the Meta Key affords collectors a ticket to future experiences and to collect forthcoming drops. The Meta Key floor currently sits around 0.23 ETH.
Boonji Project
Boonji is a PFP NFT project launched by world-renowned artist Brendan Murphy. This collection of 11,111 NFTs depicts Murphy’s recognizable spaceman character, each with a unique background, color scheme, visor reflection and other various traits.
In addition to offering a way for art enthusiasts to collect a Murphy spaceman, Boonji acts as a passport to future member-only events, merchandise and physical/digital artwork. The Boonji floor currently sits at 0.38 ETH.
